“I am 23-year-old girl, I started learning copywriting from free resources 6 months back.

I enjoyed it but gradually it became hard for me to manage both my job and this passion.

So I decided to devote full time to learning copywriting and left my job.

I don’t have money to take any paid courses, and I also can’t understand how I can earn money from it practically as a fresher.

Now what next?

I want a mentor but I barely pay my bills, so hiring a mentor is out of my budget.

So tell me how to get someone who can be my mentor.”

Here’s my honest & raw opinion on your situation:

You don’t need a mentor, you need a job.

I know the internet trolls like to hoot and holler about “going all in” on your passion but they live in their mom’s basement with no responsibilities.

I grew up in a poor immigrant family.

My parents migrated to America from Romania.

I got my first job at 14 years old scrubbing toilets at a local martial arts studio.

But since my parents both worked multiple jobs to pay bills, the only way I could get to work was by running there.

3 miles there.

Work 8 hours.

Run 3 miles back.

And that's AFTER 8 hours of school.

And I did that 5 days a week for four years.

I’m not telling you this story to get sympathy.

I’m actually incredibly grateful for those four years of busting my gluteus caboose!

It taught me the essence of brutal hard work and discipline at a very young age.

(Which I can say has served me well now as a 31-year-old man with a wife, kids, and successful career.)

Here’s where I am going with this:

You quit your job because it was hard to balance work and passion…

But quitting didn’t make your life easier!

Now you have other “hards” to deal with like being broke and not sure how you’re gonna pay the bills.

That’s the thing about life and copywriting.

There is no “easy” route!

These influencers online are LYING TO YOU.

Because now that you’ve quit your job... you gotta learn:

*How to write great copy

*Client acquisition

*Client retention

*Customer service

*Product delivery

*Customer success

*Analytics & reporting

*How to pay taxes

And about a million other things.

All that under the pressure of BEING BROKE.

It doesn’t give you any margin to learn.

My humble but honest opinion is that 9-5 jobs are wildly underrated.

Because you don’t have to worry about any of that stuff!

You can go to work, guarantee to get paid twice a month, pay your bills, and work your a** off in the mornings or evenings to learn copy.

Is it easy?

No, it’s not suppose to be!

Otherwise we’d all be rich, fit, and happy.

The best things in life are UPHILL.

I don’t know where this Gen Zenergy came from where people think money grows on trees and AI pays the bills.

I promise you...

You will have a much better life busting your butt for 2 years with a 9-5 and then going full-time copy when you’re flooded with work.

That’s just my 2 cents.
