I’ve had a lot of special days in my life…

I remember my wedding day. Getting married at just 19 years old.

Having my first child — Hailey — at 22 years old and holding her in the hospital.

Buying my first home at 23 years old.

Having my other two kids — Liam and Luca.

Getting my first real big boy car.

Paying off all my debt.

Sooooo many special days.

Too many to recount…

BUT GAHHH THERE IS JUST SOMETHING MAGICAL ABOUT LAUNCH DAY!!!! 🤣

So before I run out of my office to graciously explain that intro to my smokin’ hot wife.

I gotta tell you about launch day because...

ORANGE BOOK CLUB IS LIVEEEEEEEE!!!!

Listen.

I knew I was gonna launch a new offer soon...

But I didn't think it would be this.

I was thinking maybe a deep dive storytelling course? A 21-day daily writing challenge cohort? A brand new book?

Ahhhh I wanna create it all.

So many ideas and not enough time!

It was like the Lord himself was bestowing it upon me to make this freaking thing.

Because over the last decade, I’m not gonna lie…

I freaking love doomscrolling Twitter… and YouTube… and Skool…

It’s like eating a big piece of chocolate cake (or shooting up cocaine). Whichever you prefer.

In the moment… it feels like you’re in a state of mindless bliss.

But then 15 minutes later…

Your brain is foggy, you can’t remember anything you consumed and you’re stressed out because you burnt half the day vegging out on irrelevant crap that no one cares about tomorrow.

Needless to say.

Being on my phone all the freaking time sucked the energy out of me.

It killed my attention span. Idea generation. Creative thinking. Even happiness.

So I looked at myself in the mirror and said…

“LOOK AT YOU! YOU’RE PATHETIC!”

Then I spat in the mirror and decided to change my life.

I sold my Apple Watch and bought a real watch with no notifications.

I swapped out my CRM system for Field Notes and a pen.

And best of all…

I replaced my doomscrolling with reading phat azz paper books!

And what a freaking bliss it has been.

In the last few years alone, I’ve read over 300+ books.

The entire Harry Potter series. The entire Red Rising Series. The entire Mistborn series. James Bond. War & Peace. 100+ copywriting books. Dune. Lord of the Rings. Every Robert Greene book. Every Ryan Holiday book. Every John Mark Comer book. Every Amor Towles book.

And it has done WONDERS for my mind.

It is one of the reasons (if not the main reason) I am able to write these emails every single day with such high energy and creativity.

Because I’ve cleared the…

BRAIN FOG!

Look at this:

Digital dopamine feels stimulating to your brain.

But your brain is actually in a state of lethargy.

It’s not thinking. It’s not connecting ideas. It’s not expanding.

But if you delete TikTok, smash your phone and read words on paper…

Your brain will explode with energy, creativity, new ideas and best of all — CLARITY.

This is why I launched Orange Book Club.

Because I wanted to create a community that rebels against the digital dopamine age we live in.

A culture of obsessed readers and smart people.

A culture that replaces a timeline filled with politics, p**rn and propaganda with one that talks about stories, ideas and empathy.

But to be honest…

I DIDN’T WANT TO LAUNCH THIS COMMUNITY MYSELF…

I actually tried to find a book club to be a part of without doing the dayum work of making one.

But every book club I found was either…

*Dead of engagement cause the founder didn’t take care of it

*Filled with a bunch of bro-dudes just jerking off to business books

*Or ladies only who are only obsessed with Fourth Wing

I don’t want a “genre specific” club!

I don’t know a single person who just reads one genre! So why would I want to be part of club that only obsessed over one genre?

Or a club that only got one gender’s perspective on books?

That’s stupid.

I wanna talk to different people from different walks of life who have different perspectives.

Anywho.

I could go on and on cause I’m deeply passionate about this.
