A couple of days ago, I met my new friend (and fantastic copywriter) Justin Blackman at Taco Mac for beers.

He jumped on my email list a couple of weeks ago and I noticed the geotag…

Apparently he lives 30 minutes from me!

​

Small world hah!

I don’t run into a ton of Copywriters in person so I reached out for us to hang.

Anywho…

We’re hanging at Taco Mac.

Enjoying fresh IPAs.

Chatting about the copy industry.

And the waitress comes back to us after already taking our order…

SHE LOOKS STRESSED! 😰

​

Uh oh.

Then she comes up to me and says, “Sir I am so sorry… I totally lost your orderand forgot to put it in… I am so sorry…”

She’s panicking 😳

“Could you please give me your order one more time? I will get it right away. I am so sorry. Hope you're not too mad.”

I laugh a bit and like a NORMAL HUMAN BEING reply back:

“Sure, it’s really no problem! I’m not mad. I had the fish tacos and a tropicalia.”

“I’ll get that in right away!”

“Haha yeah no problem, all good.”

I look back at Justin after she leaves and said...

“Man she really thought I was gonna be pissed. You think other people really freak out on stupid stuff like that!? 😅”

Justin replies, “Oh she’s lucky she didn’t forget my order. I’d have flipped the f***ing table!”

🤣🤣🤣

“Oh my goodness I wish you had! I could turn that into an email!”

“Haha subject line - Justin Blackman Flips The F***ing Table!”

“I am ABSOLUTELY figuring out a way to use that subject line haha”

AND THUS MISSION COMPLETE!

I HAVE SWINDLED MY WAY INTO THAT FANTASTIC SUBJECT LINE 😅

And Justin didn’t have to flip the table because the very kind lady brought me my fish tacos & tropicalia. :)

It was a wonderful time.

We cracked jokes and talked copywriting for almost two hours and I gotta say…

It made me all the more excited about the biggest copywriting project I’ve ever built.

(As opposed to that weird roofing gig that responded to your Upwork proposal)

Anywho.

I’m hard at work to launch this community and documenting every step of the way.
