Do you think all these new AI websites and ads convert higher or lower than the old school stuff?

(Or are people just using it cause it’s fast and not actually checking if it sells?)

Cause to me…

… I keep seeing stuff that looks, tastes, feels and smells like low effort ChatGPT slop (and probably converts lower).

That riled up a few responses including this slightly triggered response:

Where do you draw the moral line of using ai?

Genuinely curious, the thought of ai writing copy makes you rage but suddenly designers do not deserve to get paid for their creative outputs?

Not only have I used AI for YouTube “Slop” thumbnails and lead magnet covers…

I’ve also used it do design entire PDFs for me, build website landing pages, turn google docs into funnels, edit videos and a ho’ bunch more!

Yes!

Those exact slop thumbnails where I used a $4,000 camera in my home studio setup to shoot high quality headshots of me, edited them manually in Adobe Lightroom and THEN had ChatGPT test various backgrounds with those pictures against my current thumbnails to see which would win.

AKA “A/B testing”

Which is a fancy marketing term for testing one thing against another thing to see which gets more clicks, sales, etc.

Very nifty idea you may have never tried.

Oh and by the way…

.. the AI backgrounds lost the test.

Which is why you see my old thumbnail style for my last 10+ videos.

You must be referencing the Studio Ghibli style images I’ve been using for my products since 2022 (before AI even had image rendering capabilities).

Oh gosh, slop city, am I right!?

I hired a guy named Jamie (forgot his last name??) on Twitter years ago to design those first ones for me including a studio ghibli style headshot for myself.

He charged $180 per image!

I had him do two product logos for me and a headshot. Cost me $500.

I’ve since used that style in all my products including Email Goat, Template Tycoon, Client Casanona and a bunch of my lead magnets (AKA those disgusting book covers!)

But you’re right…

… instead of using Jamie at $180 per pop…

ChatGPT made them for me 🫢

I’m so ashamed.

I even spent a ton of time training ChatGPT on how to do it with my colors, typography, brand guidelines so it could feel as pristine, clean and brand aligned sloppy and gross as possible!

It’s immoral to not feed my kids so I figured $40/mo in AI subscriptions instead of $4,000/mo in freelancers saves money for groceries.

But something about data centers and Skynet would be a better way to rage bait me here.

If I encourage people to learn copywriting and write with their brain…

...it’s not because I want to put more work on you.

It’s because it SELLS more.

I’ve paid tons for design where I believe it was totally worth it (cause it will convert higher) and I’ve used AI where it’s easy enough for me to test.

But the keyboard warriors will always be the ones nattering behind their little screens doing absolutely nothing.

These are the people building anything... no business... no funnels... no products... yet they're angry at you LOL.

Don’t be a keyboard warrior.

Go build something!

I’ve been moving all my stuff over to ClickFunnels over the last few weeks and it’s incredible.

It even has a deeply immoral direct integration with Claude to where you can simply upload google docs to Claude and tell it to build a funnel for you in ClickFunnels.

Bad Claude! You dirty bad boy!

Oh, and Claude can setup your email automations, courses, and products in ClickFunnels too.

Took me about 5 minutes to setup.
